Habitats:
An epiphyte on the trunks of waterside trees such as Alnus, Salix and Fraxinus, low down within the inundation zone, and so often silt-encrusted.
Threats:
Main threat is the removal of waterside trees. Afforestation of river margins. Eutrophication of river water. Changing flood management within a river channel leading to elevated or reduced flood levels.
