Primary life-form an herbaceous perennial, non-bulbous geophyte; secondary life-form an annual therophyte. Little/no vegetative spread.
Flowering period:
May to September.
Habitats:
A parasite on roots of Hedera helix. Calcareous cliffs and walls in areas of mild climate and usually free from frost.
Threats:
Habitat loss and fragmentation through deforestation, especially long-established woodlands. Excessive clearance of Ivy from undercanopy of woodland, from sea cliffs or from old masonry.
