Hemicryptophyte. Herbaceous perennial. Rhizomatous, rhizome short-creeping.
Flowering period:
June and July.
Habitats:
Damp meadows close to lake shores. Near-neutral mires.
Threats:
Former Lough Neagh drainage schemes and land reclamation works. Agricultural improvement, overgrazing by livestock and eutrophication from agricultural run-off may also have played a role. Some former sites have also been encroached by wet woodland, lakeshore public amenity sites and golf courses. Drainage of sites.
