Habitats:
Heaths and bogs, including in uplands. Base-rich micaceous soils, acidic Calluna heath and Nardus grassland. Disturbed soil of roadside embankments and quarries.
Threats:
Overgrazing and poaching by livestock. Habitat loss and fragmentation due to agricultural intensification. Heath fires. Peat cutting. Trampling by hikers.
