Hemicryptophyte. Herbaceous perennial. Limited capacity for vegetative reproduction.
Flowering period:
July and August.
Habitats:
Woodland, river banks and wet grassland, preferring basic soils.
Threats:
Woodland clearance. Drainage of wet grasslands to enable agriculture. Once widespread it has not been recorded since 2006 and so may be extinct in the wild.
