Cryptogramma crispa. Parsley fern.

Life-form & Growth Form:  

Hemicryptophyte. Herbaceous perennial. Little/ no vegetative spread. 

Flowering period: 

June to August.  

Habitats: 

Rocky and stony base-poor montane habitats including cliffs, crags, rocky outcrops and stable scree slopes. Crevices of acid rock. 

Threats:

Lost from all lowland sites due to habitat destruction and disturbance. In remaining upland areas sheep grazing and poaching. Widely separated population clusters increase risk of local extinction. Natural processes such as erosion and rock falls. Plants appear to be relatively short-lived and casual in appearance.
