May and June.
Habitats:
Base-rich, species-rich habitats such as grazed limestone grasslands; rarely also within Corylus and Fraxinus woodland.
Threats:
Overgrazing and trampling by livestock. Under-grazing leading to scrub encroachment. Ploughing. Application of excessive amounts of fertiliser either directly or via run-off. Re-seeding pastures with agricultural or amenity grasses.
