Habitats:
Sandy heath & dunes. Over ultrabasic rocks and on moist grey soils. Lowland. Blanket bog acid moss peat.
Threats:
Excessive sheep grazing. Heath fires. Poaching of ground by sheep. Encroachment of Molinia caerulea and Myrica gale scrub. Cattle trampling is no longer able to activate seed germination.
